You change my mood instantly,
When you lay in my arms so peacefully,
My heart beat calms down and starts to go slow,
I hold you so tightly, I don’t want to let go.
It’s time for bed and I know it wouldn’t be right,
If I just kept you in bed with me for the night,
I know tomorrow you wouldn’t want to go in your own bed,
You’d put up a fight and end up in with me instead.
It seems weird at night when I put you down to sleep,
I am listening but you make no sound not a peep,
I know I’ll see you in the morning and I know that it’s best,
If I put you to bed because then we’ll both get some rest.
It’s daytime and you’re running around making a mess,
I’m trying to stay calm trying not to get stressed,
It’s come so fast, it’s night time again,
When the most sound I hear is the sound of the rain.
